Dear Canon Bonito,

Camp is set! Some days this expression is most welcome and this day it seems particularly good.
We slept so well. Awoke to thoughts of fishing (Finally!). Met Al and Hoyt at 9 AM for morning on the Conejos River. First cast felt good. Second cast was glorious. We all agree the brown went 17 inches or more and each of us declared it’s beauty. There is a picture for proof.
Hoyt caught a rainbow every bit as big and beautiful and Hoyt connected with 3 more before noon.
Your sign of entry tells a truth. Canon Bonito is a Jewel and you treat this river and camp ground with genuine respect.
It is very refreshing here with the Abeyta Family and Kathie and I will call Canon Bonito a favorite place to be for our future.
I don’t want everyone to know of Canon Bonito, however, that is a selfish thought I must reckon with in fairness to Al.
If you want a quiet, spacious camp site on managed pristine trout water you had best not miss this Jewel.
With Thanks for a wonderful experience,

P.S. Save site #5 for us!

My Wife and I just returned from one of the best vacations we have had in many years at Canon Bonito RV and Fisherman’s Club. Al and Lisa are the best hosts and will make you feel like family while you stay at their beautiful RV resort. Al even set up a fly fishing lesson with his brother Aaron for me and I learned more in the 2-3 hours I was with him than I did taking a 4 hour class at Bass Pro Shop. Al and Lisa meet and visit with all of their guests and supply firewood, WiFi and even patio furniture and a smoker/ grill. The RV spaces are large and you will have plenty of room from your neighbor so you do not feel like you are in a sardine can.The nearby town of Antonito is quaint and near for any supplies that you may need. The private river is walking distance as it flows right behind the campsite and the fishing and scenery are awesome, we’re hooked. All in all this was one of the most beautiful and relaxing RV parks that we have been to and we will definitely be back.

Dear Canon Bonito,

My wife and I are “full time RVers”, and had the pleasure of staying at Canon Bonito RV and Fisherman’s Club. Al and Lisa are wonderful hosts, making every effort to make our stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. Buddy, the wonder dog, (who is also the camp host), was lots of fun, too. The park is small and intimate with large sites spaced far apart, making it a very quiet and relaxing place to stay. “A river runs through it” makes the setting perfect for relaxing, fishing, and enjoying the great outdoors!
While we were there, Al and Lisa arranged a park-wide potluck dinner with Karaoke afterwards, and then a campfire under the stars. Many thanks to Al and Lisa for your wonderful hospitality and thoughtfulness extended to all.
The park is close to the Sand Dunes National Park which is an amazing place to visit. The town of Antonito is nearby where we caught the steam train for a spectacular ride to Chama, NM – all together making many wonderful memories of our stay at Canon Bonito!
If you’re looking for a quiet place “to get away” and have a great time of fun, fishing, and enjoying the great outdoors, we highly recommend you consider a stay at Canon Bonito RV Park and Fisherman’s Club.
